Non Stop Work & No Vacations For 1 Year: What I Learned

Most of my pals went on vacation this summer. Some travelled across Europe while others visited Africa, Asia and even North America. For me, I was stuck in Edinburgh working over 2 jobs for different companies/organisations without taking any rest day that wasn't a public holiday or weekend.

I haven't even seen any show since the start of the Fringe festival, and I'm not going to say it's because I don't have the time.

I've just been focused on exchanging my time for money and working on other projects that involve my computer.

I don't regret my decision not to travel because now I've been able to raise some capital to go towards my accommodation for next year as well as to use on other projects and even send home to take care of important issues.

Besides, I've used this opportunity to study my mentor who's also the founder of one of the companies I work for. He's not taken a single vacation in 2 years (except for Christmas and public holidays) and seems to be happy running his business.

I had to find love in the jobs I've been doing this summer as well as see how to learn the most from them. So far, it's been great actually, and I look forward the coming months with optimism.
